Draft Thread

Post  bholmes4 on April 14th 2010, 12:14 pm

Do we have a thread for teams to start drafting before the live draft on Friday? Hopefully we can get a few in before then.

Do we have a list that shows the current draft order? I'd like to know where I pick since I won't be able to make the draft Friday.

Dang slacker commishes! Razz

HAHA nah, we have been hammering away at the revamped international / independent leagues to get them ready for the new season. Should make a big difference in future free agent markets. We think we added some nice touches to make those 'other' leagues more appealing to scout and check up on once in a while. Plus, there won't be any more guys entering the FA market with 0 service time....

but to answer your question and keep on topic, give me a minute and I'll get something posted for you guys to start picking away!

The only downside to starting the draft prior to the in game date is players can get injured in the feeder leagues...So I would personally advise not drafting until after todays sim since there is a possibility the guy you pick could get injured in the sim today....So feel free to pick before, but do so at your own risk Smile

Once we get through todays sim, which takes us to the in game draft date, you will be safe to draft without fear of injuries.

Haha now I'm afraid to draft Shocked

Probably going to pick SP Velasco. I wouldn't normally pick him (risky in my opinion) but nobody else is jumping out like he does. I just know he's going to take talent hits though and I hate to waste a 1st overall pick like that... What to do? ...

Both GMs involved must come to an agreement on what the PTBNL should entail. Basically, what is the value on said PTBNL? In the recent case, the PTBNL was agreed on the player the Southpaws would take with the 26th pick overall(supplemental 1st round).

Jeff and I had a gentlemens agreement that I would select the player he wanted when I came up in the supplemental 1st round. We PM'd our intentions to the commish (in this case is was JT since I was in on the trade). This PM serves as record of what the trade involved in the event that a GM would actually leave the league before completing the trade. The commish could then go in and act on behalf of the departed GM to fulfill the transaction.

Each team is limited to having one open ended trade at any given time. So you must fulfill the PTBNL before entering into an agreement on a second trade of this nature or any other trades for that matter. Once you enter into agreement on a trade that includes a PTBNL, you are considered locked and prevented from making any further trades until you have satisfied your current debt (player owed).

In addition, any trade involving a PTBNL must be closed out and fulfilled by the current season's final day. There is NO ROLLOVER.

**this rule came about when brainstorming new avenues for trading when we implemented the free agent compensation model.**

If I just export regularly and made a draft list in-game is that all I have to do or do I need to do anything special with the list?
And I don't need to make any past the 2nd round yet right?

Correct on both accounts.
