Edmonton to finish behind expansion teams

next season.

It seems inevitable with the expansion parameters.

Getting an early start?

Honestly, I hear ya.... but it won't be THAT bad.

Without adding too many outside the game stipulations (ie just running with in game protection lists) we are avoiding a huge can of worms and a ton of extra leg work.

By default the game will only allow a maximum of 30 players being protected from each pre existing team. Once that number has been set there is no way to go back in and edit the lists be it add or subtract players from it.

Basically, once you have submitted your protection list, it is locked down until the draft has been completed.

Other than keep a running tally outside the game of players added to the protection list after each round or after a team loses a player...(by every team keep in mind) there is really no feasible way to do this without creating a giant clusterf*ck. Very Happy

We've been fishing for ideas on a better way to handle this situation pretty much all season long. There wasn't much voice one way or another so...

Here we are. Laughing

Edit - I'm pretty sure the majority of owners were in favor of not creating extra work to add a few players to the protection lists out of game after each round.

My comment was not about how we are doing expansion. It's fine.

(But by the way, the game allows other than 30 protected. My experience with another league was 40.)

Just from looking at a likely protection list and how things seem likely to go-- an early estimate of results, unless, of course, none of the Edmonton players are worth anything, which might be true and the GM is the last to know. But in that case Edmonton with all the same players is already set up for last anyways.

Hmm the Max it lets me set it at is 30. The default is 25, but the drop down menu only goes to 30 when I try to change it.

Correct... I have tested this as well. OOTP X allows a maximum of 30 players on an expansion draft protection list.

Apologies-- my mistake--- looked it up and the 40 number was in a different context-- not expansion.
